Saturday night. 

7:00pm. 

This is my online diary. I am getting drunk tonight for the first time. I will try to keep a diary of what it's like as it goes along.

My name is Kelly and I'm a senior in high school. I want to be a writer and journalist. When I finish this diary I will try to publish it in the school literary journal. I will send it in just as it is and not edit it because I don't want to distort, if that is the right word, my experience. Though I WILL probably go back after I am done and spell check or something. I will try to put down my true feelings, because that is the only way that writing means something. I will try to always keep time on the clock thing in my computer like a scientist.

7:10pm

I haven't had anything to drink yet, but I have a bottle of tequila here in front of me next to the computer. I kept it in the freezer for a while so it looks like it is SWEATING, with water or
something gathered like dew on the outside. It is REALLY hot outside because it's middle of summer - so I guess that adds to it.  I also have a lime and some salt and a shot glass. I got that from the internet (research). I printed out a page about doing tequila shots so I am going to try that. There's a lot of pages on the internet about booze and drinking. 

My friend Mike, who's 19 but looks older, bought the bottle for me for this project. I've never tried tequila before or anything else. I guess that makes me a booze virgin, if you know what I mean. My parents are gone for two days so I have the house to myself. I'm using the computer on the table in the kitchen by the back porch and I have all the windows open cause it's REALLY hot. I can see the neighbors house across the yard, they have the windows open too cause it's so bad outside. I am now going to have my first drink, but just the straight tequila. 

7:22pm 

Wow! That tastes terrible! I mean, like horrible terrible. I had to sit here for two minutes before I could get back to typing. Whew!!! What does it taste like? Gasoline? Never drank gasoline - ha ha! I donít know if this was the right thing to get. I am going to wait a bit and see how I feel. It's the only bottle I have. Bummer. I should have had Mike buy something sweet! But what do I know about it? :) 

I just screwed the top back on the bottle cause the smell it was getting to me. While I am recovering from that drink I will tell a little bit about myself. I am tall for my age, about five ten and I have light brown hair. I am a little big on top, if you know what I mean. But let's not talk about that. Everyone tells me that I am pretty and I have a lot of guys asking me out so I guess it's true. People always say I have the "next door girl" look or something like that and that's suppose to be good. :)

Oh, I forgot to mention I have pretzels here that I am eating. Oops! It's

7:45pm 

I was gonna TRY to have a drink EVERY FIFTEEN MINUTES. I think the bad taste has worn off so I am going to ATTEMPT another shot. It is now

7:46pm

Same thing! same taste! I don't know how - or WHY - people drink this stuff. 

This time I feel a little different. The first time I felt it in my mouth. This time I feel it in my belly more. I'm wearing jeans and a belly shirt because it's hot in here so even though my belly is exposed, it actually feels HOTTER than the rest of me under clothes. Isn't that weird? I wanna get a belly ring like Angie, but my parents won't LET me. They say I'll regret it later. But it's been two weeks and Angie doesn't regret it. She is not allowed out though. Bummer. 

I don't know how often to have these drinks. I saw Mike doing shots one right after the other at Angie's party, but he eventually THREW UP all over the COUCH. Yucck!!! I don't wanna do THAT. I also don't know how I'll know when I'm drunnk. I know when other people at parties are drunk, but how will I know mself? I'll just have to put down everything truly as I feel it. Then maybe I can go back and read it or something.
